Barry Smith

I was born in England and educated in Manchester and at Cambridge University, where I read history. Australia has been home for over forty years and I live in marvellous Melbourne where I have worked as a management consultant.

For many years, I was a regular columnist in professional journals and co-authored “Shakespeare and Management”, a bardic guide for struggling and stressed executives. Having completed a Doctor of Management Program focused on 3rd age living and working, with Charles Handy as one of the assessors, I am now living my dream by becoming an established writer.

My travel adventures in crossing Siberia, finding my Mancunian grandfather’s grave at Gallipoli in Turkey, negotiating the Nullarbor Plain to Perth and exploring the Kimberley wilderness whilst researching background for my novels and recent travels in Moorish Spain, are described and illustrated in my travel blogs:
