Q & A with Karen Culjak

So why did I write this book?

The first thing I would like to mention that will probably surprise most people is the fact that I wasn’t planning to write a book and I didn’t have a plan as to how I would write it! This book came through divine inspiration! Now, I don’t want to give too much away here because I don’t want to spoil the journey for those of you who decide to read it, but basically, through the course of several events, I had a ‘supernatural encounter’ in February 2012 that has not only changed me but has changed the course of my life forever!

The second thing about this book is that it is not just based on my personal journey and experience, it encompasses a holistic perspective of humanity, the mind, body and spirit based on my study and understanding of sociology, psychology, neuroscience and spirituality.

What was the most rewarding part of the process?

The most rewarding part of the journey I embarked on when I sat down to write this book was the deepened level of spiritual awareness I discovered through the process and the insight I received into humanity that I had never seen before. It has been an amazing journey and quite an achievement for me considering everything else I had on my plate throughout the year.
The fact that I have actually written and published this book still feels very surreal.

What are your top tips for writing a book?
This is a hard question to answer considering mine came through divine intervention!
Given that this was new territory for me and based on my personal experience, I would have to say support, discipline and focus.

Support: The support I received from Palmer Higgs and others, including family and friends, combined with the professional guidance and expertise Palmer Higgs and other key people have given me through the process along the way has been invaluable.

Discipline and focus: As a life coach, I understand well the importance of staying disciplined and focused if you want to achieve your goals. As I mentioned earlier, I had a lot on my plate over the course of the year so implementing a time management and motivational plan to ensure I stayed focused and motivated during the process was crucial.

Why did you decide to self-publish?
I decided to self-publish because I didn’t want to go through the time-consuming process of having to submit my manuscript to publishing companies and wait for possibly months on end to hear anything. Factored into my decision was the very encouraging feedback I received from those who had read my final draft, including my editor. The positive feedback I received reinforced my belief that I had written a good book and gave me the confidence to explore self-publishing. Once I embarked on the journey of discovering the options available through the self-publishing process and the various levels of support and guidance I could have along the way, I decided to run with it.
In fact the whole process has been such a positive and rewarding experience, I have decided to write another book! And based on the support, guidance and expertise Palmer Higgs have given me though the process, I’ll certainly be publishing my next book with them.

What do I hope my readers get out of my book?

It is my desire that those who read my book will not only discover the pathway to enlightenment that will lead to their ultimate place of fulfilment, but that their current world view or perspective of humanity will also be expanded.
